We’re gay and we want to read more gay stuff. Womp womp.

But also: in a world that’s actively circling the drain, we need alternative minds to give us new ideas. On the fringes since day one in Capitalist Land, queer minds are intrinsically different. Speculative fiction is the realm of the sandbox, where anything can happen. We need to imagine other worlds in order to fix this one.

Currently we’re trying to just get our feet on the ground and get a handle on what the heck running a micropress even entails. In the future, there’s a good chance we’ll take submissions, but it’s not in the cards right now.

Countershade is a micropress that specializes in the printed word, but it happens to be started by an ex-filmmaker and their husband. Jonah’s previous film production company, Malicious Wallydrags, will continue on as an imprint of Countershade Press… an imprint that produces films. Listen, it's my company I can do whatever I want!
